Ken at 50

You might not guess it by looking at him, but Ken Carson is almost 50 years old.

The iconic companion of Barbie — who made his first movie appearance last year in Pixar’s ‘Toy Story 3′ — will celebrate his birthday this Thursday, March 11.

Above, a 1961 Ken that was bought at a yard sale for 5 cents by Vanessa Carosella, on display at the Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History in Boynton Beach Friday.

The museum is featuring more than 40 Ken dolls as part of its ongoing exhibit “Barbie: History, Fashions and More.”

Carosella called this one “Viet Nam Vet Ken” because he had one arm broken off.
